Dr. Koenig’s study, Primary Breast Augmentation: A Single Surgeon, 8-Year Experience with Nearly 1,000 Cases, was presented to the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2012. Highlights included his low capsular contracture, complication, and infection rates, measured at less than 1% (.8%) for his patients versus the national average of 15%. This success was partly due to his use of the Keller Funnel®, among other factors such as a controlled setting with a single surgeon and consistent, meticulous, and well-planned patient care.

Humanitarian Work Abroad 

Dr. Koenig combines his technical expertise in plastic surgery with a desire to help those less fortunate, traveling extensively worldwide to volunteer his services for children with cleft lips/palates. As part of the HUGS Foundation, founded by Dr. Vito C. Quatela in 2003, Dr. Koenig helps children—who otherwise would not have access to these procedures—live without being ostracized for their physical differences.

Giving Back to Our Community 

Dr. Koenig and the rest of the practice support the local nonprofit Foodlink, a Rochester food bank dedicated to ending hunger and poverty in the region. He is actively involved in their annual Nourishing Lives campaign.

Research, Presentations & Publications 

Since graduating with honors from Northwestern University Medical School, Dr. Koenig has dedicated his professional life to becoming one of the leading plastic surgeons in the nation. That includes eight years of post-graduate surgical training and working at the prestigious Guthrie Clinic in Sayre, Pennsylvania. While there, he earned an excellent reputation for his work as a plastic surgeon before joining the Quatela Center for Plastic Surgery in 2003. 

He has performed numerous presentations throughout the U.S. and Canada for various audiences, including the Air Force Society of Clinical Surgeons, the American Society of Plastic Surgery, and the Midwestern Association of Plastic Surgeons. 

Dr. Koenig has shared his knowledge and achievements through numerous national and international presentations on topics such as breast enhancement and abdominoplasty. He has authored many publications and book chapters used by peers and plastic surgery students.
