Feeling so happy.December. The time of year when everyone is scrambling to find the perfect gifts, attempting to decorate in pure Pinterest style, and when sweets and bubbly spirits are abundant.

You may have finally gotten into a clean eating and exercise routine, only to find yourself caught in the hustle and bustle, skipping the veggies and spin class to instead race through the mall while grabbing a soft pretzel for dinner. While there’s no need to be legalistic about sticking to the routine, read below for tips on how to avoid the post-holiday blues and guilt-ridden New Year’s resolutions.

1. Pick and Choose.
Holiday parties take over every available weekend all month long. Add to that the extra cookies and candy often brought into work by co-workers and the huge holiday meal with family (or multiple families), and you’ve got yourself enough food to last you through to March.

So in this case, pick and choose what’s worth it. Have an ugly sweater party with some rockin’ appetizers later that night? Skip the cut-out cookies your officemate brought in. Looking to enjoy a few drinks at the New Year’s Eve bash? Be mindful of your meals that day. Unfortunately we can’t have it all. It might all look good, but you’ll be frustrated later when your favorite dress just doesn’t fit quite right.

2. Don’t Bash Non-Traditional Exercise.
Not enough time in the day to get to the gym? Don’t forget that you can burn calories with alternative tasks as well. While cleaning the house for guests, alternate between the upstairs and downstairs rooms. By doing so, you’ll use the stairs more often. Walking up and down the stairs for a consecutive 10 minutes can burn up to 90 calories!

Keeping a quick pace while rushing around checking off your to-do list will get your heart rate up as well. And don’t forget all the weight training you’ll do while carrying all of your shopping bags.

3. It’s a New Year.
Despite our best efforts, we all still struggle with staying healthy and fit during the holidays. And if you’ve been working hard for a while but still not seeing the results you’re looking for, a cosmetic procedure might be the answer.

SmartLipo Triplex is laser-assisted liposuction that oftentimes can be done while awake. Combining traditional liposuction with the SmartLipo Triplex adds the extra benefit of skin tightening for an improved result. Small incisions minimize scarring and liposuction has a minimal downtime and recovery. Liposuction is beneficial for areas such as the abdomen, arms, thighs, hips, and knees.

If you are looking to improve your contour and get rid of stubborn fat, why not do so in 2016? It’s a new year, celebrate yourself!
