Women considering cellulite treatments at our Rochester, NY practice say they want to regain the confidence to wear shorts or bathing suits. Cellulite causes the dimpled, "cottage cheese" skin that many people, young and old alike, want reduced. Cellulaze is a unique laser treatment that clinical studies have shown is safe and effective for cellulite reduction.1
Cellulite can be a problem even if you're slim, because it's not caused by being overweight. Learn more about cellulite and the Cellulaze treatment by requesting a consultation. Individual results may vary.
Cellulite is actually not a fat-related problem. It's a structural problem underneath the skin. It causes the dimpled skin that can appear on your thighs, buttocks, and abdomen. This is caused by enlarged fat deposits deep beneath the skin that press on the connective tissues. When the fat cells expand, this creates a limited space underneath the skin. The connective tissue then experiences a lot of upward pressure, which pushes the fat to the skin's upper layers and creates a dimpled look on the skin. As multiple fat compartments develop, cellulite extends across a wider area.
A board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Koenig's experience and gentle bedside manner help put patients at ease and build an uncommon level of trust. He meticulously customizes each procedure, and sculpts beautiful results that consistently exceed his patients' expectations.
Cellulaze is a unique laser treatment that reduces cellulite by targeting its actual structure. So far, Cellulaze is the only treatment that hits the three structural components — thin skin, fatty deposits, and fibrous bands — that cause the skin's dimpled appearance. Cellulaze increases the skin's thickness, reduces bulging fat, and separates the fibrous bands, all during a single treatment.
The procedure usually takes one to two hours, depending on the size of the treatment areas. We perform Cellulaze treatments in our surgery center using a local anesthetic.
Experiences vary after Cellulaze. It usually takes only one treatment to see the desired results, unless the treatment area is very large. You may see immediate results, but in some cases patients have to wait about three to six months to see the optimal outcome.
Because this treatment is very accurate and customized for your needs, the Cellulaze treatment cost varies from person to person. We quote a specific price after comprehensively evaluating the areas you're concerned about. Please read the information we've provided for what to do before and after your Cellulaze procedure.
Cellulaze requires patience, as results are rarely seen immediately after your treatment. While patient experiences vary, some improvement may be seen at three months, and full improvement at about six months.
Results last for one year or more.1 A study found: "a single treatment with the 1440-nm pulsed laser improved the appearance of cellulite, an improvement that persisted through at least one year of follow-up with minimal adverse effects." A healthy diet and exercise regimen is essential for maintaining your results.
Most people are quite comfortable during the procedure because our nurses provide you with an oral pain medication and Valium®, in addition to the local anesthetic.
There are small incisions made during the Cellulaze procedure; however, they are typically not noticeable once they heal.
Most patients return to work the day following their Cellulaze procedure, although experiences vary. A garment must be worn for three weeks to aid in the result.
